Board Refuses Financial Information

Bamboozled Again??

As ECA owners, we filed the following financial information request with the Board on August 14th. (See Letter to Board 8-13-14 above) Versions of this request have been filed with Trip Anderson, Burpee Hill Special place Chair as well as Larry Schulman, Dave Philippi, TCBC Chair, Ken Ryder, to all Council members and other community officials.

By voting to go forward with funding and building a new Center, ECA Council members refused to require proper accounting and disclosure for hundreds of thousands of dollars already spent on the Center. There is absolutely no excuse for this abdication of responsibility. In essence the ECA Council Members have told ECA Owners to take a hike. There is no due diligence document whatsoever that supports the need to spend that outlandish amount of money to destroy a 17-year-old building.

Nevertheless, each ECA non-Council Member must hold him or herself responsible for accepting the abdication of responsibility that is expected of ECA owners given Maynard's self serving recommendation that we be civil (see post click here)

The predominant thinking amongst Eastman “dissident owners” is that if we write letters, emails, go to meetings and be nice to the Board, the Council, and the employee Officers, they will somehow recognize our requests and perhaps be nice to us. An example of what we can expect is provided by the recent (Aug. 2014) Referendum fiasco.

The Board, in a display of arrogance toward owners, took a straightforward 2 sentence petition and manipulated it into six questions where the sixth question overrode the first five deliberately (once again Bamboozling Owners). When requested to get a legal opinion on whether the Board’s actions in expanding the petition content was appropriate, the Board, through their President rejected the request.

The Board’s action was a blatant “Conflict of Interest”. The Board cannot objectively and independently evaluate its own actions since they made the original decision. Nevertheless, much like the Pope they ruled on their own decision as infallible. Even the Pope is only infallible on matters of faith or morals last used in 1950. Our Board chooses to ignore the owners’ rights by rubber-stamping the Board President  on anything he chooses to be infallible on. See Post click here

Owners are supposed to accept Maynard's infallibility and he would like you to be civil about it. How does that serve ECA owners?
